Our inaugural event in September of 2002 will be discussed for decades to come. The 16 warriors who were the first to walk down the path of Silk and Steel will never forget the experience. In the years that have followed we have taken the opportunity to get together to renew and review. Our instructors have been honing their established skills and expanding their horizons by training with other premier weapons fighters from around the world. Our 2008 Warrior’s Path Silk & Steel – New England training seminar is set. Our instructor’s are ready to go. Are you ready to join with those who have walked the path of Silk and Steel? |
|
The Warrior's Path will forge a unique bridge between the martial arts, military, law enforcement, and the cutlery worlds. It is much more than a seminar, the Warrior's Path is an adventure from which the rewards gained will last you a lifetime. We at Warrior’s Path strive to provide you with world class edged and flexible weapons training, so you can be the best you can possibly be. And lucky for you, we do it in the quickest time possible and have one hell of a good time in the process! Developing yourself and your art helps to create spirit and heart. This is a key survival factor in our mind numbing daily existence! Plus it is a crucial tactical factor in lethal force encounters of all types! It starts with an honest commitment to yourself and a simple phone call to us. The rest is as easy as falling off a log. |

The atmosphere at the Warrior’s Path is safe, sane and professional. This allows for non-stressful learning, in a positive environment, which has been designed specifically for this endeavor. Retention of the skills you will have acquired is high, because of this low stress aspect of our training. Beyond the training, Warrior's Path offers you a chance to meet others and to network with them. Each individual that attends Silk and Steel is a unique story unto themselves. This combination of people and personalities produces a synergistic mix, which in turn produces projects, opportunities and bright tomorrows for all involved. No other gathering of modern warriors can offer you such a strong, multi-level profile as does the Warriors Path - Silk & Steel Adventure. This is truly a place of personal enhancement and unlimited opportunity for those who make the sacrifice to be present. |
| Within the heart of every true warrior there rests a longing to master the blade. Some start their quest early in life and some begin their spiritual journey of steel late. Either way the path of steel beckons to the imagination. It spans race, creed color and age, as does our Warrior's Path philosophy itself. Why wait? This is one dream that can be made into reality; so many times we put our dreams on the back burner and there they die. |

Be-do-have! These are the elements that guide the successful beings of this world. Be one of them, grab the dream by the throat and hold it firmly, make it yours. You will never regret this action. It is not that which a man does that causes him regret; it is rather that which a man does not do which causes him sorrow. In life there must be commitment, in death there must be commitment, and so it is with all great works. Call Warrior's Path today and make the commitment to a better you and a better life via the time-honored path of silk & steel. We await your command. |
Knife and counterknife training
This is about saving lives, first and foremost. The usage of the knife in one's own defense or the defense of one's country needs no excuses or apologies. In order to successfully defend yourself from an expert knife man you must first understand them and their art. Only by becoming familiar with the ploys and actions of the blade can you hope to survive its fury. In the process of learning to use the knife you also garner the real truths and techniques of how to deal with the knife if you ever face one unarmed. The blade arts of every culture, when they are taught properly, revere life and discard the idea of killing except as a last measure of defense. This is why martial artists, police, and sportsmen rave about the training they received at shorter seminars. It is the mature professional behavior of the Warrior's Path program that keeps such real world players coming back. At Warrior's Path saving lives is foremost on our minds.
Knives: A starting point
Knives are wonderful items; they can be gem encrusted or filth laden. Old or new, they always command attention from all. They are not only powerful mental icons for many people (especially warriors) they are literally the tools of change. Tools of change come in many shapes and sizes. We have chosen knife and rope, because they are excellent teaching vehicles. They demonstrate certain principles via their persona that are then metaphorically applicable in daily life. Specific aspects of reality and of the self become apparent to all who study the art of the blade.
We at Warrior's Path feel that these factors along with the obvious defensive value of knife and rope study validate our choice of the knife and rope as our path to self-perfection and happiness. We hope to portray the blade and flexible weapon arts in a positive light. We hope you share our vision. Knives truly are critical root points for many great deeds.

Flexible Weapons: A softer alternative
The warrior trains to use the weapons they bring with them to battle and the weapons they can pickup in the field. A warrior constantly evaluates opportunity and risk. Look in your immediate surroundings, look on your person what weapons do you have at your disposal.... Belt, T-Shirt, Handkerchief, Bandana, Shoelaces, Electrical Cord, Phone Line, Trash Bag, T-Shirt, Car Antenna, Dog Leash, etc.... No matter where you are, no matter what restrictions have been put on you. There is always a flexible weapon within reach. Now how do you use it! At Warrior’s Path we specialize in the use of flexible weapons for both lethal and non-lethal combat. We are prepared to share these tools with those warriors who wish to bring these skills into their repertoire of available weapons.
In the flexible weapons section we will be utilizing short rope (4 ft or less) and long rope (10+ ft.) to perform blocks, strikes and entrapment techniques. Novice and experienced participants will start with the fundamental blocks and strikes, from there we will systematically progress through more advanced combinations - practicing both immobilization and incapacitation skills. All materials necessary for this section will be provided.
Rope Syllabus: ٠ Materials and Safety ٠ Basic Blocks, Strikes
٠ Short Rope Training Sequences ٠ Snaring Techniques
