Brotherhood
What is Brotherhood?

Brotherhood is defined as
an association, as a fraternity, united for a common cause. In Tang Soo
Do it is so much more than that.
It is handshake and bow
after working with a partner. Brotherhood is the encouragement for
techniques well done. It is the smile on one's face when the lessons are
realized. Brotherhood is the support you receive when you run a
class, clinic or tournament. It is a heart felt thank you for extra
help from your peers and high rank. Brotherhood is the feeling you get
when you see a friend from another studio at Black Belt camp or testing.
For me it is discussing training partners who have moved or left and the impact
they had on our lives. Brotherhood is pride in our art without the
ego.
In Tang Soo Do, Brotherhood is a way of
life. Without our peers, juniors and seniors, and
the common goals we share the association would only be a physical one.
The growth of Tang Soo Do is based in brotherhood. With these
commonalities we strive to excel in the warrior spirit on a difficult
path. Sometimes it takes brotherhood to get us where we need to be,
kicking and screaming. Brotherhood is the helping hand to those who have
fallen or a kind word in times of trouble.
I have seen the World Tang Soo Do Association
grow from a few thousand people in the late 80's to the thriving 100,000+
strong organization it is today. Without the strong brotherhood I have
witnessed at every event, gathering and training day, we would be Tae
Bo!!!!!!! To all of my brothers in the association, Tang Soo!!!!!!!!!
